The story of La Pulpería 2k began during the COVID-19 lockdown. At that time, a group of friends met every day to play NBA 2K. We created a virtual basketball team, and someone had to design the team jerseys. That person was me.

The team name changed several times as a joke until one day I designed a black jersey with an octopus in the center. Our captain in the game was Dani, known as “Pulpo”, the most experienced player in the group. That is how the name La Pulpería was born.

By combining this idea with the world of the videogame, the project became La Pulpería 2k.

After receiving positive feedback for the virtual designs, I asked myself a simple question:

Why not create these jerseys in real life?

That is how La Pulpería 2k was officially founded in November 2021.

My name is José Marín Fernández, a primary school teacher specialized in Physical Education, with a lifelong connection to basketball as a player, coach and referee. I have coached teams at different levels, including the university team of my faculty in Granada, and now in Weil am Rhein, where I live, with 2 teams with TV Weil und 1 with CVJM Lörrach.

Basketball is not just a sport for me, it is part of who I am.

In terms of style, my inspiration has always come from hip hop culture and the NBA era of Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson. As a player, I always felt that it was difficult to find clothing truly designed for basketball: good quality, good looking and affordable.

That is why LP2k was created as a brand made by players, for players.

One of the first important moments for the project was when my friends said the jerseys looked great. Shortly after, professional player Sergio Cecilia trusted the brand and started wearing La Pulpería 2k. From that moment on, the project began to grow through work, consistency and personal effort.

La Pulpería 2k was not created through large investments, but through dedication and commitment. Every garment reflects this philosophy: high quality, careful design and accessible prices.

The octopus is our symbol because it represents what defines the brand: intelligence, adaptability and defense, both on and off the court.

Today, LP2k’s philosophy is clear:

to remain different, to offer exclusive garments and to give basketball more visibility through sports fashion.

We want everyone who wears La Pulpería 2k to feel part of a community born from gaming, friendship and passion for this sport.
